LIQUEFY - SOLIDIFY

What comes first? The concept or the action? The word or the gesture? Or are they all concomitant?

A parallel series of events that transform the SELF by making the decision to move something. TO FLOW INTO ANOTHER FORM.

In this third workshop of THE THEORY OF WATER (September 26, 2025), Margarida Franco invited us to consider the duo SUBMERSION as an "abrupt silence" or immersion in one's own SELF, and SUBVERSION as "resistance to one's own existence," perhaps a tearing or breaking down of the walls of what defines us, from the inside out. Piercing the water in its solid state.

Martina Corona questioned the vertical and the horizontal, the flow between the two, carefully carrying the "weight" of the feminine being. Edna Damaceno brought us the image of OXUM as the materialization of LOVE.  Julia Sereno questioned the fluidity in immobility. Tatiana Reis brought us a liquid vision of what can be defined as BEAUTIFUL, or authentic. Maria Madeira brought the image of the "serpent being," an undulating existence that moves in a system without upper or lower limbs.

Meanwhile, Margarida Agostinho subtly and silently transforming our noises.

Here I am, trying to squeeze the juice of such an abundance of life.

THEORY OF WATER is a series of six creative workshops that culminate in a site-specific living installation. This project takes place within the context of the #Pedras2025 festival THE GESTURE THAT LOVE ENPOWERS, organized by cem centro em movimento, Lisbon.

Workshops happen on Fridays, from September 12th to October 17th, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Fountain of R. De O Século, Lisbon.
